It’s no secret the two global car manufacturers share a platform, as does Mitsubishi and Peugeot. Both are now in the middle of exploring the possibility of co-operation to give birth crossover.
Small SUV’s rumored to be launched in the event the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. Cooperation Mitsubishi and Peugeot is going to produce a luxury and stylish small SUV to drive.
As reported by carandsuv, Tuesday (04/10/2011) Peugeot 4008 crossover uses a Mitsubishi platform Active Smart Crossover (ASX). Later in the Peugeot family, 4008 will be positioned in between 3008 and 4007, in which the only model that uses platfor Japanese-owned automobile manufacturer.
Signing of the cooperation as a result of continued cooperation between PSA Peugeot-Citroën group with Mitsubishi in 2010.
Will be available capacity 1600 cc petrol engine capable of spraying power 87 kW and 152 Nm of torque, as well as 2:00 cc petrol engine with a power capacity of 112 kW and torque of 198 Nm of torque. Both will use a 5 speed manual transmission, and optional CVT auto to 2:00 cc engine.
Also available HDi turbo diesel engine 1600 cc with a power capacity of 84 kW and 270 Nm of torque and engine capacity of 1,800 cc which is claimed could catapult power 112KW with 300 Nm of torque. Both these engines will be mated with a 6 speed manual transmission.
Peugeot 4008 crossover to use all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive configurations. Motorists can turn the wheels of motion as needed, for fuel-efficient 2WD and 4WD traction if the rider wants to get better and to deal with off-road terrain.
